Stretching out from the mountain chains
to the Iseo lake, the Camonica Valley unveils itself
in various, incredibly fascinating landscapes to the
eyes of those visiting this rich land.
Starting from the lake with its picturesque panorama,
the visitor immediately finds several possibilities
of diversion on foot or by bicycle. To have fun or to
relax along the banks of this bewitching expanse of
water.
Proceeding with the visit, we travel along the "Via
del Romanino" with the enchanting frescoes which
this painter wished to create exactly in this spot,
thus bestowing upon the Valley further prestige. We
are led to Pisogne, Esine, Breno and Bienno where a
stroll in the town hailed as one of the most beautiful
burgs in Italy is a must, the town of Magli, of the
iron of the antique Camonica Valley traditions.
We climb further, only to find ourselves in a completely
different world, in the past, back to the times of the
valley-dwellers' forefathers. We find ourselves in the
parks where the ancestors left their imprint. We are
in the parks of rocky etchings.
In this very place it is possible to visit these world-renown
graffiti. Yet the visitor does not only observe, he
is transported back to the past where he experiences
unique sensations.
Climbing further up this land, we come across a breathtaking
landscape: the mountains, those which give us enchanting
panoramas and unrivalled emotions.
Mountains that give us the opportunity to enjoy ourselves
skiing in winter and trekking or doing other sports
activities in the summertime. Mountains that are so
dear to the Camonica Valley people, shielding them,
ensuring them food and survival for centuries, and which
still today represent a precious asset to protect. Here,
as in all parts of the Camonica Valley, one can eat
the tasty typical dishes of the Valley, made with ingredients
produced in this territory according to the antique
traditions handed down from one generation to another.
There is still a lot more to catch a glimpse of in these
areas: the splendid "Santa Crus", the Roman
remains in the ancient capital of Cividate Camuno and
much more
